Do you like this story?
Lucid dreaming - a world that you are in control of; flying, facing your phobias, living out your fantasies all from the safety of your bed. This is a completely life changing experience but the fact that you are reading this means that you are having trouble on how to get a lucid dream. Don't worry though as this is a very common problem people have with this frustrating process. One of the many common things that stop people from lucid dreaming is the fact that they don't know that they are dreaming which is one of most important steps that needs to be taken to lucid dream. Don't fret, there are ways to get yourself to notice you're dreaming through reality checks. What are reality checks? As the name suggests these checks are those to do to check whether what you are experiencing is reality or not. These are different for everyone but when done in a dream can give you the realisation that you are dreaming and with this knowledge you are able to take control of your dream and kick-start a truly vivid lucid dream. What is mine?As mentioned everyone has a different reality check and to find out what you own is you need to create a dream journal. This is a journal that you will write every detail of the dream you just had and over a few days you will be able to pick out repetitive things that happen in every dream which become your way to see whether you're dreaming or not.Once you know your lucidity check when you are sleeping you can do a simple check. Some popular ones are the ability not to see the time clearly, the ability to walk through walls, different colour sky, light switches don't work but it's still light etc.Important trick to lucid dreamReality checks in dreams will help on how to get a lucid dream but it has been reported that you should also do them whilst awake every hour to make it habit and this habit will soon continue into your dreams. You want to have two reality checks so that you have yourself a fail safe just in case one doesn't work. Starting on the next hour perform two of the following....
Breathing - Hold your mouth and nose and try to breathe? - Should be impossible if you're in reality
Hands - Can you push your fingers through the palm of your other hand? - Impossible in reality
Time - Can you read the clock face? - Should be able to in reality
Reflection - Does your reflection look normal in the mirror? - Should do in reality
Weird - Can you fly or walk through walls? - Should be impossible in reality
Take two of these reality checks and do them on the hour and when you are dreaming once it becomes a habit you will be able to automatically lucid dream on a daily basis!P.S make sure you do two reality checks when you wake up just in case you experience a false awakening (waking up in the dream again but not in actual reality)
